Maintaining proper strength and flexibility , and balance
will often help alleviate and prevent orthopaedic injuries
of the foot and ankle. Below are some exercises and stretches
for the foot and ankle that you may find helpful.

Slowly rotate foot and ankle clockwise
and counterclockwise. Gradually increase range of motion.
Avoid pain.

|
Attempt to balance on involved leg.
Hold 10-15 seconds.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Rise up on balls of feet. You may
need to hang onto countertop or chair back for balance.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Stand with involved foot back, and
leg straight. Keeping heel on floor and turned slightly
outward, gently lean into wall until stretch is felt
in calf. Holds 10-15 seconds.
